Mark C. DiStasi, MSOL, is an experienced consultant and collaborator, passionate about helping teams thrive by focusing on an organization’s mission, vision and purpose. Mark works with organizations and utilizes data to help lead decisions and positively impact results. Mark has worked alongside leadership teams at non-profits, academic institutions and for-profit organizations in designing strategic plans, creating evaluation metrics, and implementing change management principles and strategies to help organizations achieve goals.

Mark helps organizations work better, accelerate their impact, and improve their bottom line by developing and fulfilling their mission. His customized approach to every client includes a full assessment of the organization’s resources. This includes identifying opportunities to develop talent and resources internally as well as recommendations and assistance to utilize external resources to help navigate change. He believes that organizations with high productivity will yield high impact. With a diverse background working in media and advertising, marketing, higher education, and the nonprofit sector, Mark has the ability to weave the design and development of brand strategy communication, marketing and advertising priorities, and crisis communication plans into an overall strategic plan.
Diversified background with proven results
Currently, Mark is an independent consultant and works with companies throughout the country and internationally. Mark was the Chief Development Officer at House of Refuge, Inc. in Mesa, Arizona where he led a development team responsible for fundraising efforts, a donation center, public food bank, volunteer programming and marketing. Prior to that role, Mark served as the Associate Director of Development at the Arizona State University Foundation. Mark helped grow support for the School of Biological and Health Systems Engineering at the Ira A. Fulton School of Engineering by developing a strategic plan for fundraising. He also served on the Foundation’s strategic planning team, focused on board development and volunteerism, and was the co-architect of the Industry Engagement Catalyst Leadership Council at the School of Engineering. During his tenure at ASU, Mark was part of an inaugural team with the Building Reliable Advances and Innovation in Neurotechnology (BRAIN) Center which is part of the National Science Foundation’s Industry-University Cooperative Research Center. Mark helped develop and steward relationships with the medical industry on behalf of the BRAIN Center’s educational partners, Arizona State University and the University of Houston.
Mark received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in broadcasting from the University of Cincinnati and his Master of Science in Organizational Leadership (MSOL) from Mount St. Joseph University in Cincinnati, Ohio. Mark is the president of BOLD Solutions, LLC. serving clients in the areas of board development, strategic planning and organizational design/effectiveness. He’s also the author of From Survive to Thrive, BOLD Solutions for Transforming Your Nonprofit, a useful workbook and online learning tool that inspires leaders to do the necessary work of transforming their organization to reach its full potential.
